 Whitehorse Photographer- Ephraim Hamacher

Hamacher was born in Wilmot Township in 1857.  In the summer of 1900, he arrived in Whitehorse following in the footsteps of the Gold Rush photographer, E.A. Hegg.  Hamacher never left the Yukon and his photographs have become priceless treasures from a by-gone era.  He will always be known as the “Whitehorse Photographer.”

The Mysterious Masons & Maccabbees Exhibit

The Mysterious Masons & Maccabees James Livingston, owner of Castle Kilbride, was a Mason who obtained the 33rd degree and was a charter member for the Wilmot Lodge No. 318 (established c.1874.)  The Livingston daughters were members of a women’s benefit society called the “Ladies of the Maccabees.”  At least five daughters were charter members of the Baden “ Livingston Hive No.2"

Maids of Kilbride Tea & Tour

Dates offered: June 18 – 23 and June 25 – 29, 2012

Time: 10:00 a.m. or 1:30 p.m.

Guests will be treated to an in-depth tour of the Castle. Then be indulged while the maids of Kilbride serve you tea and goodies outside. Offered to groups or individuals. Pre-registration is required.  * Teas can be made available in July and August please inquire.

Cost: $15 per person

Tour the grand home fully decorated in Victorian Christmas splendour, pay a visit with Father Christmas, enjoy gingerbread and cider...and come face to face with real reindeer! Paying a Call: Yuletide Evening Tours

December 6, 2012

Time: 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.

Cost: $5 per person *advanced tickets not required.

During the Victorian era, paying a call was a popular custom. Paying a call meant to visit someone in their home.

For one night only, visitors can marvel at the glitter and glamour of the decked out 1877 home at night. Live entertainment will bring the house to life. After your tour, enjoy a cup of good ol' fashioned hot apple cider or try traditional Wassail punch. Looking for a special present to give? Place a bid on one of our fabulous silent auction items.
